If you have ever had a dealing with Christianity there is one word that you must have heard even if you were just passing by the church you would have heard the word Grace. And so the word grace has been a song in the church over and over and over and over but there is one thing that stands out. Does the church really understand grace? Scriptures tell us that we are saved by grace through faith.
This means without grace actively operating in the life of a Christian, that Christian is not saved or in the process of saving, even if they are in the front row of the church. Now if Grace is this crucial that we cannot be saved without it, then it means every Christian should know what Grace is all about. Yet with the many challenges that face the church, we will all conclude that the church needs to see more and more manifestation of the grace of God to ensure her existence in the future. so if we are saved by Grace through faith why then do Christians call on Jesus to save them more than they seek to employ the functionality of Grace in their lives.
Now if you define faith from the perspective of grace, you see that faith is not a thing of substance. Rather it is an ability by which a Christian can bring grace into action or operation in their lives. so I see in this that instead of the church concentrating on understanding the functionality of Grace and how to make it work, they are behaving like children who keep calling their parents to come switch on the TV all the while having the remote control in their hands. However, the issue is not that we have not heard about grace or that we do not recognize the limitations of our practice of faith as well as the limited manifestation of Grace in the lives of some Christians. The issue might be that we are not willing to ask new questions about what we have known and practiced even when we see their limitations. The fears of the unknown sometimes are scarier than people's current troubles that they rather will trade the possibility of freedom to avoid it.
But in all that we say about GRACE, have you ever asked yourself the question; what if there were different types of grace for different aspects of our lives and that all these had different levels as well? I want to introduce you to the idea that there are different types of "Graces" as well as levels. Also, the way a man gets these graces is also different.
How to receive Grace:
on a general note, all grace is given by God. Bible says God gives grace to the humble. So for a man to get grace, he has to humble himself before God and God will give it to him or her
Types of Grace:
Today I want to limit the number to just four types.
Grace to understand: Jesus told his disciples "to you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom" now because this grace was not given to the Pharisees they could not understand
Grace to Will: scripture says it is God working for you to will. it means God is the one that gives you the grace to be willing to do his will or please him. without this grace, your heart will be hardened toward him like he hardened the heart of Pharaoh.
Grace to do or take action: from above the scripture that talks of willingness also says God will work in you the ability to do his good pleasure. there are times when you find yourself willing to do something but do not yet have the ability to do it. David was willing to build God a house but the right to build it was not given to him
Grace to be or to become: It is written as many as received him, he gave them the right to become the sons of God. by this you cannot become something just because you want to. If the grace to become that thing is not given to you, you will never become that thing.
My prayer for this generation is that they will seek to gain knowledge of the truth that is able t save them rather than just hold on to outdated knowledge and hoping god will save by magic. God bless
