Many people who call God today have different reasons for doing so. some today even call God for reasons very far from God himself. Then for true believers in Christ, there is a device of the enemy to distract from that which is truly important. we go to church to get a blessing (But God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing). some go to church for provision (But he has given to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness) At the end for some all we seek is carnal things like my house my own car, my own wife, my own job, my own money, my own blah blah blah. the worse of all is that some don't only seek these things but go about getting them in ways which are ungodly. In all these, we are exalted to seek those things which are above. did you really become born again just so you can have a car, or a house or a wife? Paul said " If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied" (1 Corinthians 15:19)
The Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has made the right choice, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42) like Martha, Christians worry and enter depression because they refuse to obey one Christian command Do not worry about what you will eat or drink. For your notice, if you do not find that one thing Jesus was talking about, know that anything else you find could be taken from you. your house can be foreclosed, your car can be totaled, your spouse could divorce you. you can be fired from your Job. your money can be stolen. Only the one thing Jesus told us to find will not be taken away from us. So the true question is this: what is that One thing Jesus was talking about?
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. (Acts 20:32)
So what then did Mary find. She found that only the word of God and her relationship with God was important. This then should be your take because as you spend time searching and seeking things, know that only the things you receive from God and your revelation of Him will remain forever. God Bless.
