Wishes: Should Christians give wishes?

Joe dropped off his friends who were traveling to Hawaii from Oklahoma City. As they were on their way to the check-in line, Joe waving his hand toward them saying “I wish you guys a safe trip” and his friends also said, “drive safe and take care”. The very next day Joe met an old friend who invited him to sit down for a cup of coffee. While they were doing catch-up for lost time the topic of being born again came to mind and his friend ended up leading him to Christ; a phenomenon that he greatly appreciated as a missing piece in his life. On the morrow, Joe woke up excited as a newborn again Christian singing that special new song that only happens to those who have experienced what it means to be born again. However, as his wife unlocked the door to go meet some clients, Joe shouted darling have a nice day which you the best. Then I said wait a minute. Was Joe right in wishing well for his friends and wife? This is an important question that will make Christians different from the world. It might surprise you to know that when Joe wished his friends goodbye he was right but two days later when he did the same for his wife he was hell wrong. Yes! Hell Wrong because something happened between the time he wished his friends goodbye and when he did the same for his wife. And if you ask me I will tell you “born Again” happened. When Joe became born again, he was transferred from the Kingdom of darkness where he had little control over the affairs of his life to the kingdom of God’s son where he now has been given the right to start controlling the circumstances of his life. At born again we enter a new world that makes old things pass away meaning our effective prayer has the ability to change our circumstances. Also, we can get what we say if we speak and believe in our hearts. Remember what Jesus said to Peter when Peter was in danger. “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fails not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” That is why wishing is a sin resulting from ignorance of who you are in Christ. Therefore, I no longer give wishes; I give “faithlets” (a spiritual term I coined). "A faithlet is a word spoken out by a Christian on the outcome of a future event based on what they believe will come to pass".Therefore, if I say drive safe, I am not wishing I am saying you will drive safe because I just put my word on it. Period! This is our victory in Christ and I want the church to know.
