Are Christians being brain-washed by some "so-called" leaders? who indeed are not true leaders but stomach led individuals who are led by their belly and not the will of God. Some years back in order to be objective (free from blind sentiments) in my judgments on the church (in order to be of help) I decided to start looking at the church as an outsider because it was evident some things were not working well. Then I saw a brainwashing-trend of church folks by the teaching of half-truths. while I say this, I do it with all honor and respect to all the men and women of God out there who are doing their best to make sure the true course of the Gospel advances. Your work before the lord is indeed a blessing to the His church. You will all agree with me that pointing out mistakes that are beginning to become commonplace in the church is a necessary routine we must undertake to ensure the growth of the church in every generation. Now is it possible that God can change the world when in some counts, He has not succeeded in changing the church? NO
Sometimes the enemy stops taking the church in an alright assault but sets up brainwashing tactics designed to slowly destroy the church with itching-ear doctrines that gradually kill the church through a systematic erosion of truth. Let me talk about one of those brain-washing trends.
Increasingly I saw how "Giving financially" started filling up the pulpit and replacing sound teachings like a universal drug for all Christian challenges.
so when Christians asked real questions about their lives emphasis was laid on giving financially as the remedy for their situation. for example:
How can I grow spiritually? Give
How can I be delivered from oppression? Give again
How can I be stable financially? Give some more
How do I draw close to God? Give-Give-Give
How can I receive what God has for me? Give sacrificially
Though these messages in some cases were not direct, there was always a giving connection to everything and anything. Now if you went to the hospital and asked for a drug for a headache and say constipation, then the nurse came to you with one type of drug, will you not be skeptical? Even if you are not skeptical with two sicknesses if the nurse brings the same drug for five different diseases I bet you will be skeptical. However, for church folks who have lost the spirit of discernment which judges all things, that's not true. They have been taught a kind of submission which I call dictatorship submission which states that Papa is always right and you have no business expressing your opinions even if those concerns are genuine.
So some church folks accept lies from false teachers not realizing that they are being bewitched by those teachings.
Ask this Question for once: In the area of finance where the church teaches that it's giving that's the ultimate answer. Why do we behave as though we are not In the world
or live in the world where Real Christians are not among the financially richest in the world. OK if wealth is from Giving as emphasized by some, then people who hate God and never attend church will be poor people since they are not believers as we understand in the Born again concept. therefore it's high time we start telling ourselves the truth before we all perish like past generations because a people who hate or despise knowledge will never prosper.
Today let me conclude form three scriptures
He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32)
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2Peter1:3)
From the scriptures above it is clear that God will give us anything we ask freely through Jesus Christ. Therefore, anyone who teaches that there are some things God cannot give you if you do not give is somewhat lying. By the way is everything we receive from God at the level of the physical? certainly not. so do we also have to give so God can give us things like grace, peace, joy, the Holy Spirit? Child of God think; test all spirits and cling to that which is good. Then the bible clearly states that God has given us all the things we need for life. WOW! it means he has given it already we just need to take it by faith. but some are being taught to give so that God can give to them. How will God give you what he gave to you already? Those who tell you to give so God can give you what he already gave to you are destroying your faith. The same verse says he gave those things to us through the knowledge of himself. Humanity for a long time have pleasured themselves with the blessings of a God they do not know for too long and God has taken resolve; no more. As it is written to whom much is given much is expected, God expects all who have his name to know Him. To the extent that he made it a prerequisite for receiving any blessing from him. Therefore, to seek God's blessing without seeking him is like trying to pluck a star from the sky with your bare hands. thus, it is our responsibility to teach the church systematically and comprehensively about God. Then the growth that will proceed from their spiritual understanding and practice will open up a door of blessing for them that is endless.
For in the Law of Moses it has been written: “You shall not muzzle an ox treading out grain.” Is there care for the oxen with God? Or is He speaking because of us entirely? For it was written for us, because in hope the one plowing ought to plow, and the one threshing, in hope to partake. If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it a great thing if we will reap material things from you? 1 Corinthians 9:9-11
Lastly but not the least, Paul said those who share spiritual things should share in the carnal things of the people who benefit from their spiritual ministry. so giving is a responsibility or a calling for anyone who benefits from the ministry of a spiritual person and also to make sure the needs of the church as an organization are met. So we give because it's our responsibility not because we need a blessing. If you took time to turn the pages of your bible, you realize one thing is very clear; We are all blessed!
